One of these days Yelp will allow half stars… My Truck Buddy really deserves a 4 1/2 star rating for the services they rendered last week for my wife and I, but I decided to go ahead and round that up to 5 stars.
We needed a bunch of furniture moved around in our house. Much of it I could have done myself, but some of it required two people stronger than my wife and I are. So we called a few places looking for movers who would only charge us for an hour of labor. Some places had lower hourly rates, but the total cost when factoring in their minimums (3 hours seems common) was more than My Truck Buddy. And scheduling was fast and easy (they came the same day we called)!
Ben and Leon arrived pretty much on time, and were very friendly and professional. It is possible they finished within the hour, but I think it must have taken a few minutes more than that (at no fault of theirs), but we weren’t asked to pay a penny more than the quote we received for the hour’s work ($125).
So where would I ding them the 1/2 star if I could? Well, while they were careful with our furniture, and did not damage anything permanently, I will need to go through the house with touch-up paint for the several places they scraped against the wall. I’m not upset by that and understand that it can be very difficult to avoid, but it is a little hard to leave a “perfect” review in light of it. I rounded up rather than down because their price was competitive, and the service was great.
We’ll definitely use them again when we need extra muscle.
