I moved over the weekend and was very very happy with the team of guys from My Truck Buddy. I moved from 1br in a 2br VA apt to 1br in a DC group house. I ended up choosing My Truck Buddy because of the 1 hour minimum and rates at 15 minute intervals (and they didn’t try to nickel and dime me like some of the other companies I contacted.) I also saw they recently sponsored a charitable event for the Washington Humane Society, which is always nice to see for a small business.
Before the move, their online estimate form was convenient and accurate, and their customer service was responsive to my questions. The moving guide on their website was extremely helpful- seriously, follow their instructions and tips.
On the day of the move they were running about an hour late (due to a previous job running over), but the manager made sure to call me and let me know ahead of time, which I appreciated. I had booked a two man team, but because of their previous appointment being scheduled back to back there was a three man team for no additional cost. Once Nicolas, Brendan and Reggie arrived, they were very fast, efficient and careful with my things. They didn’t blink at the “long walk” to my courtyard apartment, the lack of elevators or the tight staircase at my new place. The job was done in under two hours.
I highly recommend MTB for young pros if you don’t have friends or family in the area with cars (or even if you do- it was less hassle).
