My Truck Buddy — the place to do mighty deeds.

My TruckPeeling truck label Buddy is hiring. I could write that any day of the year, but in THIS time of year, I could write it a hundred times per day.

We’re a small company, but we’re growing fast — almost faster than we can handle. Over the last eight years or so, we’ve gone from a single guy with a pickup truck (me) to an organization of up to around 40 guys. We’ve amassed hundreds of five-star reviews, five consecutive Angie’s List Super Service Awards, and three consecutive “Runner-up” awards in the Washington City Paper’s “Best of” Reader’s Poll. We’re pretty proud of that.

The unfortunate reality (from one point of view) is that we have to keep growing in order to survive. There’s a line somewhere up there where, once we’re comfortably past it, we won’t have to scramble daily to achieve what we want to do. It means doing jobs, jobs, jobs. Fortunately, that’s the easy part — we have more jobs than we can handle most times of the year, but not enough guys to do them all.

That’s where you come in. If you have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and are more than 24 years old (ideally), you are a hot commodity.

You’re probably thinking “I do not want to be a mover.” I understand that. I didn’t move across the country to be a mover either. I had no intention of starting a moving company. Life is funny that way. But our stories aren’t written until we’re dead, and you could do a lot worse than to write a couple of chapters about the mighty deeds you did with My Truck Buddy.

I’m talking to those of you who aren’t sure what you want to do with your life. Or those who are ready to get out of what you’re doing now, but don’t have a fallback plan in place yet. Thinking about making a transition? We want to talk to you.

Maybe you’re stuck in a grind with no hope of upward mobility. Guys, I’ve been there. Many times. And more than one boss “helped me make a decision” and sent me packing. Well, let me suggest taking a look at My Truck Buddy. If things go the way they’ve been going for the last eight years, this little company is going places. NOW is the time to get on board.

A note to the “other guys:” You know who I’m talking to — you guys who can’t show up on time, not even to the interview. Don’t bother. This work separates the men from the boys really fast.

Who are the men? The men we’re looking for? That’s easy. They’re the guys who show up on time, work hard and fast, are friendly and careful, and know how to keep it simple. They’re not always the biggest guys. Sometimes they’re the skinny, wiry kids you wouldn’t think cold lift a box of books. The men we’re looking for are the ones who can either handle new situations daily, with “interesting” challenges in new environments day after day, or who can do more than just survive those situations — they thrive on them.

If you just “need a job,” that’s alright. We’re not looking for a marriage commitment here. We all need a job. If you’re the kind of guy who takes pride in his work no matter what kind of work it is, this is a place for you. If by “need a job” you mean “need a place to which I have to move my body in order to get a paycheck,” well, keep walking.

Come work with My Truck Buddy and do mighty deeds. Meet new people. Work with the best guys in the business. Get paid fairly, weekly, and get huge tips. Give us a call.
